Yaichi Muroi is a student at Shinokura Academy. He's a member of a group of bullies lead by Naoki Furuya.

He's shown to have a worse attitude than his comrades as he brings an airsoft gun to school and shot his gun to Yoko Asano. He has the most violent personality among the three, but after Kindaichi started attending school, he was hit by air gun bullets with Kindaichi's paper, and was spotted as the culprit who destroyed the flower bed, showing he's not a bright person. He was the second victim, and since it had been three days since his body was found, it seems that his academic performance was so bad that he immediately cheats by seeing Kindaichi's paper.
