Miyako Tachikawa (太刀川 都 (たちかわ みやこ) Tachikawa Miyako) is one of Hajime Kindaichi's closest friends at Yukikage Village and an aspiring novelist.

Appearance[]

She wears round glasses and a headband, and speaks the dialect and is an orthodox country girl.

Personality[]

She is one of the few characters in the series who calls Kindaichi by his first name. She seems to take pride in her desire to be a good novelist, and she tries to take the initiative in getting involved in this case as well. She plays the role of Miyuki's substitute as she does not appear. She cries at the end when she parted with Kindaichi. She had a lively personality in the original and anime version, but she has a quiet personality in the drama version.

Hajime Kindaichi[]

Miyako has feelings for Kindaichi. During the case, she gives many valuable information and does her best to help Kindaichi to solve the serial killing in Yukikage Village.

Etymology[]

  • The name Miyako means "metropolis, capital" (都).
  • Miyako's surname Tachikawa means "long sword" (太刀) (tachi) and "river, stream" (川) (kawa).
