Rose Cross Mansion Murder Case is the fourth case in Kindaichi Case File - 20th Anniversary Series.
Story[]
Yoichi Takato receives a threatening letter from Rosenkreuz. Takato is challenged by making his half-sister as a hostage, and asks his nemesis, Kindaichi, to help protect his half-sister. Miyuki, who heard the story from scratch, also volunteers to accompany him.
Eight people have already gathered at the Rose Cross Mansion where they came, but in the meantime, dismembered human corpses emerge from the dishes that should have been brought for dinner. A great detective and a criminal, two people who are supposed to be on parallel lines that never meet, confront the murderer "Rosenkreuz" , who treats the invited guests like the flower language of roses one after another.

Cases[]
First Case[]
Before dinner, the event's mediator Mikado Mori prepared roasted chicken as the main course put inside many cloche serving plates. Kindaichi quickly opens one of the cloche, but Mori stops him as it say a prayer before eating. Mori opens a bible and quote some verses. The verses is so ominous that some guests are scared by it. Giselle Tsukuyomi, a flower poet, notices the similarities of the verses with the black roses that're put beside the cloches, which according to flower language is a bad omen. Mori allows the guests to open the cloches, only to found the plates are not served with roasted chicken, many severed parts of a man are put on the plates instead. Miruku Zenda, the cloth maker and Mutsu Koganei, a flower garden owner, recognize the man to be Sho Sumeragi the director of Sumeragi Flower Arrangement Chain Corporation.
Second Case[]
Terrified of the mutilated body of an apparent acquaintance, Koganei demands to Mori to get out of the Rose Cross Mansion, even though there's no bus as the last bus already left at 4 p.m. Koganei doesn't care and wants to be taken to the nearest lodging. The other guests agree but the rose arch, the only access to the mansion is covered completely by roses. Koganei asks Mori if there's any scissors or knife he could use, to which Mori replies that there's none when he searched before. Koganei, desperate to escape from a killer, grabs a chair and forces his way through the roses. He got stinged by some roses, and collapse. Dead by poison from the thorns.
Third Case[]
The next day, the guests received a letter each from Rosenkreuz. The blue rose exhibition is going to be held on the circular reception room in 5:30 A.M. All guests are confused and all goes to the circular reception room. The door to the room is locked, so they have to go to the terrace and peep from the window. Kindaichi looks inside, and found the corpse of Isshin Matsurizawa, director of BioFest Corporation holding a wooden peg that pierced through his heart lying on roses that makes the shape of Golgotha Hill. The rose pattern covers the only access inside and all the windows are locked from the inside, making it a completely locked room.
Fourth Case[]
A few hours later, Kindaichi and Miyuki receives a message to go to outside of the locked southernmost room. There, they have to pass the main hall and go to the rose arch to go the said location. There, they found no one but they hear a scream coming from inside the locked room. The two initially thought it's the scream of their teacher Benine Shiraki but they then see a distinct rose pattern that belongs to Miruku Zenda. They run to the locked room other entrance through the basement floor and later meet the other guests which has been told to come to various locations. The all go to the southernmost room other entrance only to find Takato standing near the door. All of them enters the room and found Zenda's corpse being shot to death by a crossbow arrow.
